Mental Health & Wellbeing
Our goal is always to help students become independent and empower them to make decisions in a safe manner. Besides all staff, the Inclusion Team, ELSAs (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and Mental Health and Wellbeing First Aiders take pride in adapting their skills and knowledge to provide bespoke support to students. In some cases, this includes supervision from the Educational Psychologist. We use a variety of tailored strategies such as individual sessions, Zones of Regulation, Decider Skills, CBT (Think Feel Do), social clubs, breakfast meet and greets, soft starts, 'breaks' (sensory, emotional regulation, movement or other) and attachment-friendly approaches. Additionally, our school dog, Maverick, plays a nurturing role in providing comfort and support to our students (and staff)!

If you are worried ...
It’s essential that no student feels isolated or alone in their feelings. The message we want to convey is that it’s perfectly okay to talk about and express how you’re feeling. Let’s encourage students to reach out and seek the support they need. We can provide advice, guidance, signposting, and referrals to other agencies. We are here to support one another.
Remember, your feelings are important, and it's brave to talk about them!

Talk About It: Find a safe space to share how you're feeling. It could be with a parent, friend or an adult who cares about you.

Ask for Help: If you're feeling really upset, it's okay to ask for help. There are people who want to support you.

Take Your Time: You don't have to share everything all at once. Just talking about one thing can help.

Know It's Okay: Everyone has tough days, and it's completely normal to feel this way sometimes.

Find Activities You Love: Doing things you enjoy, like drawing, playing sports, or spending time with friends, can help you feel better.
