The Arts

The World Around us encompasses the awareness of the Arts through music, art, drama and dance.

Understanding English, Communication and Languages

We place an emphasis on Communication {speaking/symbol and listening skills} 

Historical, Geographical and Social Understanding

The World around us encompasses an awareness of geographical location and national history

Understanding the World of Work

Where all students can experience, learn and develop skills through a range of work related experiences and opportunities

Mathematical Understanding

This includes Numeracy, Mathematics and Financial Literacy

Physical Development, Health &

Well-being

This includes holistic development in the areas of fine and gross motor skills as well as growth mindset and sensory regulation for some students with more complex needs

Scientific and Technological Understanding

The World of Enquiry encompasses problem solving and critical thinking

Religion, Philosophy and Ethics

This offers an insight into human beliefs, values and behaviours. 

Outdoor Ed. 

In addition to the curriculum areas above, at Le Murier we also provide timetabled weekly sessions for Outdoor Education. This also encompasses an extensive residential programme designed to provide real life opportunities to develop each of the key elements of learning.

Wider Curriculum and Personal Development

Besides the curriculum that is ‘taught’ we believe that it is important to provide children with as many opportunities as possible to develop their confidence and self-esteem and to help them grow into responsible citizens for the next chapters of their lives.
